After a Day of Adventure: Sanctuary
Luxuriate in one of seven ample, tastefully appointed suites.
Relax | Explore | Immerse
Book an in-room massage with one of our approved therapists. Take a long shower with a view of the sky. Indulge in a decadent siesta in your king-size bed after a refreshing dip in the 25-meter freshwater pool. Then, use our free in-house Wi-fi to document your busy day of relaxation.
Come home to El Pueblo, where every stay is a warm embrace of hospitality.
Our Suites
Your host, Cecil, is a seasoned traveler and designed the suites at El Pueblo with the ideal accommodation in mind: easy comfort; generous proportions; tasteful restraint. Most of the furnishings, finishes, and art are locally sourced, and every suite includes a dedicated outdoor space. Enjoy a morning coffee while watching hummingbirds and butterflies and Yucatán’s famous stingless Melipona bees visit the flowers in the lush, all-native tropical garden right outside your door.
Images from la lotería, the classic Mexican version of bingo, inspire the suite names. Each of the suites has a distinct character, but every suite comes with standard amenities (click below to view list).
El Mundo
This is the most central of the suites and, as such, most convenient to the communal spaces. The dedicated outdoor seating for the El Mundo suite faces the shade garden in the central courtyard.
Area: 39.4 meters² / 424 sq. ft.
Location: ground floor
Orientation: faces north, to pond and shade garden
El Árbol
This suite is probably the coolest (at least, temperature-wise) of all the suites, as none of its walls is exposed to direct sunlight — a big plus here in tropical Yucatán. Of all the suites, this one will hold the most attraction to the avid swimmer: the front door is just a few steps from the pool, and opens out onto a row of trees planted at the pool’s edge.
Area: 37 meters² / 400 sq. ft.
Location: ground floor
Orientation: west, to swimming pool
La Palma
This upper-floor suite is closest to the elevator and has two entrances: one to the screened-in porch; and one to the verandah. The window faces north to a courtyard, admitting lots of light, but not heat, from the sun. From the west door, there is a vista of some of the many palm trees planted in the garden and in the remate of famous Paseo de Montejo.
Area: 40.9 meters² / 440 sq. ft.
Location: upper floor, with elevator access
Orientation: faces west to the garden and north to the sky
El Sol
El Sol is positioned to capture the lovely north-east trade winds that come through, especially in the afternoon — which made this suite a favorite among the albañiles (builders) who would sleep on site overnight to guard tools and materials while El Pueblo was under construction. El Sol is also located closest to the roof deck hammocks.
Area: 38.4 meters² / 413 sq. ft.
Location: upper floor, with elevator access
Orientation: faces north, to the central courtyard
El Pájaro
El Pájaro feels like the most spacious suite in El Pueblo due to its double-wide patio and large sliding glass door, which lets in lots of light. This suite, which includes two writing desks and a recliner, is comfortably scaled for double occupancy, as are La Maceta & La Sandía. El Pájaro offers views of sunsets and visits from the tiny doves (tortolitas) that like to congregate at the top of the perimeter wall.
Area: 52 meters² / 523 sq. ft.
Location: upper floor, with elevator access
Orientation: faces west
La Maceta
La Maceta is the only suite with a completely private patio, which effectively gives it the largest area of all the suites. The patio admits lots of filtered light, but the bedroom is protected from the heat of the direct sun by a grille in the skylight. The potted plants in the patio area lend the suite its name.
Area: 52.81 meters² / 556 sq. ft.
Location: upper floor, with elevator access
Orientation: faces east
La Sandía
The interior space in La Sandía is the largest in El Pueblo. Those who like plenty of space for work will enjoy the huge built-in desk. The bathroom features skylights and a wall of glass blocks in the shower, both unique to this suite. This is an ample and comfortable space, and big on convenience too: of all the suites, it is located closest to the main kitchen & dining area, the laundry room, and bicycle storage in the garage.
Area: 41.80 meters² / 450 sq. ft.
Location: ground floor
Orientation: windows face south to center
courtyard; door faces north to Casa Norte atrium
